With so much good luck already shopping at the Quince website, Dan and I saw that the brand came out with a “wellness” line.

Typically, I do not dive head-first into “wellness,” as I am quite happy with my current wellness; I eat well, I take care of myself and I’m happy with what’s in my kitchen.

A few things changed though, as Dan got into protein powders (and therefore, so did I) and then I decided that having a “hydration” product would help us out during summer. I’ll explain more, but basically, we welcomed Quince supplements into our pantry and this review will tell you about which products are good, and which are not (opinions).

As a disclaimer, the content in this review of the Quince wellness and supplements products is NOT health advice. I wrote this unbiased review based purely on my experience trying all the supplements mentioned to help you out as you shop.

Quick summary and takeaways

  • Quince is a lifestyle brand that makes everything from bed sheets to cashmere sweaters, and added “Wellness products” to the product lineup.
  • Dan and I tried the Plant Protein Powder, the Everyday Electrolyte drink mix and the Mushroom Coffee. We also have the Superfood Greens in our cabinet, but in full transparency, we have not opened it yet!
  • We chose not to try any Quince vitamins, as we both take a multi-vitamin and didn’t see the need to try the ones from Quince. We do, however, recommend some of the non-vitamin products we tried, like the Plant Protein.
  • This review talks about the taste and our experience, rather than the nitty-gritty behind the exact vitamins or any health/medical technicalities.
  • We think the best products are the Certified Organic Plant Protein (Vanilla, not Chocolate), the Mushroom Coffee and the Everyday Hydration (not the Zero Sugar version).

What we got

We tried three products from the Quince Vitamin & Supplement lineup to date (and we have the Superfood Greens in our cabinet, waiting to be opened).

Pros and Cons

I have a few thoughts on the pros/cons of the Quince wellness supplements that we tried in this house.

Pros

  • A lot of the Quince wellness products are certified organic.
  • Products like the electrolyte drink mix come in convenient serving-size packets.
  • The electrolytes have an “Everyday” regular sugar variety, as well as a Zero Sugar variety (that we chose not to try because I don’t like artificial sweeteners).
  • Rather than coming in jars or large plastic bins like our LIDL chocolate protein powder, the Quince products all come in soft bags, so when they’re half empty, the fit even better into our cabinets to make space.
  • They are all allergen-free, and most are vegan, save for the Collagen Peptides (did not try, because not vegetarian).

Cons

  • I find that the price on all of them is higher than popular competitors in the market.
  • Some flavors are a hit (Vanilla Plant Protein) and some are sort of a miss (like the Chocolate Plant Protein).
  • The Electrolytes are very, very sweet, so they are best consumed (my opinion) in several servings; but actually, this helps lengthen the lifespan of each serving and makes it last longer on the whole!

First impressions and how we chose what to get

We chose what to get from Quince wellness and supplements over several months, based on what came up as something we needed.

“We’re running out of coffee” prompted us to try the Mushroom Coffee.

“We’re low on protein powder” prompted us to try the Organic Plant Protein from Quince, in two flavors. Actually, we tried the Chocolate version when Vanilla (first choice) was sold out.

My first impressions of all the Quince wellness products were as expected. As I’ll discuss in my taste section below, two first impressions were:

  • The Everyday Electrolytes are very, very sweet, if you dump the entire packet into a 10-oz glass of water.
  • The Plant Protein in Vanilla was delightful. In Chocolate, it left some room for improvement.
  • The Mushroom Coffee is highly similar to other mushroom coffees we’ve tried. It’s certified organic (so are many popular brands), so that can be what sets it apart.

Video review: Everyday Hydration (Electrolytes)

I did a video run-through of the Everyday Hydration (Electrolytes) to show you how they look and how they mix into my drinks.

Video review: Organic Plant Protein

In this video, I’m showing you how the Quince Certified Organic Plant Protein (in Vanilla) goes into my drink shaker and what I think about it.

The taste: What to know

For the products we consume weekly from Quince wellness, I’ll outline the taste in the flavors we have gotten.

Plant Protein

  • Vanilla: This is my preferred flavor of the two Plant Protein flavors. We both find it tasty to go into a smoothie of a non-dairy milk, plus banana. I drink it alone, with just water, almond milk and ice, on a typical day, and I think the flavor is light and refreshing. It’s not “too” vanilla.
  • Chocolate: This is not my preferred flavor. We compare it to the LIDL Chocolate Protein Powder, and we prefer that one. It’s sweeter and just more “chocolatey.” I even spoke with the wellness product managers at Quince over email and told them that this is my thought on it. It has a more mild flavor and the texture feels a bit more thin.

Everyday Hydration Electrolytes

We tried the Raspberry flavor in the Everyday variety (not Zero Sugar). This was to Dan’s disappointment, because he said, “Aw man, I would’ve chosen the Citrus.”

I find it pretty sweet, as you can see above in my video review where I mix it in, and talk about how I use only a portion of it at a time. I find that if I split it up into 3 servings per packet, it’s not overly sweet.

Mushroom Coffee

It might surprise you that it doesn’t really taste or smell like mushrooms at all. It has a slight earthy taste and smell to it. But not mushrooms. It’s cool.

What I’m getting at is that it tastes as expected, if you’ve tried mushroom coffee before from other brands like Four Sigmatic and MUDWTR.

Which Quince wellness supplements I can actually recommend

First, I really do recommend the Vanilla Plant Protein. It worked well in our smoothies, and alone in a smoothie shaker with water, milk and ice.

I haven’t tried too many other vanilla protein powders except for Further Food Organic Vegan Protein Powder Vanilla and actually, I like the taste of the Quince Vanilla Certified Organic Plant Protein much better. Quince’s vanilla protein powder also comes out to much less per ounce and per gram, compared to Further Food’s product.

Next, I do recommend the Quince Everyday Electrolytes in Raspberry. I’ve been using them for three months now, and I consume an entire packet over the course of a day, so I take it in 3-4 servings for a “light” raspberry taste in my water, rather than an intensely sweet one.

And lastly, Dan has been enjoying the Quince Mushroom Coffee. He uses it as “instant coffee” by mixing it right into water and milk, and adding ice, and also by brewing it just like you’d brew regular ground coffee, with a Hario V60 pourover set.

To top off that experience, he’s been using the Fellow Roasting Kettle and Fellow Roasting Kettle, both from the kitchen collection at Quince.

A customer service story from Quince

I actually wound up speaking with a product specialist from Quince over email, about leaving a review for a product. I wound up writing back that my Electrolytes were clumping in the packets, after only 4 months after buying them. I had assumed the shelf life would be longer.

He said that a batch of them had a clumping issue a few months ago and it was a good thing I reached out. A shipment had gone out to all the people who’d bought it, and my order had gotten missed. So, Quince sent me out a replacement bag of Electrolytes and did me a solid on that!

Why you might want them

I think the main reason you’d want to load up on Quince wellness products and supplements in your Quince cart is if you’re already shopping at Quince.

So if you’re already out shopping for some of the best-rated gifts from Quince, or any of the Quince home essentials we recommend, or Quince cashmere, for example, you may “stop by” (virtually) the Quince wellness Vitamins & Supplements page and see what’s in stock.

You’d also want them if you generally trust Quince, and quite frankly, I trust Quince. Like other reviews out there, I’ve had great experiences with mostly everything from Quince, from our Quince towel set to the Quince baby & kids collection. I even have tried (and loved) the Quince maternity line.

So if you’re a fan of Quince, you’ll be trying the Vitamins & Supplements offerings. If not, you can shop your regular brands on Amazon or at your local grocery store.

Why you might not want them

If you already have your favorite wellness supplements, then you might very well like to stick with those. As I talked about above, the prices from Quince are not overwhelmingly cheap nor highly competitive with other brands out there, if you look at a cost per ounce or cost per serving.

And like I talk about in my guide to if Quince is legit (which it is), one of my gripes is that so many items from Quince might be out of stock at any given moment, and you have to join a waitlist.

Comparison to other brands

The wellness supplements and vitamins from Quince are all white-labeled as ‘Quince’ products for now, meaning Quince is not selling third-party brands like they do in Beauty, for instance.

So with Quince products, they bear a big similarity to other brands you’ll see for each. And I know I keep mentioning our “close seconds” for each product we tried (namely Liquid IV, LIDL and Four Sigmatic). All of these are more cost-effective per serving.

Where to get them

As Quince is still a direct-to-consumer brand, all Quince supplements and wellness products are available at the Quince website in the Wellness: Vitamins & Supplements section.
