After three years, it is kind of unbelievable that we have tried this many bedding products from Quince. Alas, though, it kind of goes to show that we needed the upgrades in order to reinvent our bedding situation.

The following list is a collection of all the Quince bedding products I have tried out. Most of it is the “big stuff”—sheets, quilts, comforters and mattress products—and some of it is the small accessories that spruce up a bedroom. You’ll see my first impressions, my overall opinions and if they’re all worth it (and if not, what an alternative would be).

This review is not sponsored, in that all experiences are completely my own and I’m telling you straight how these items have performed for us since we got them.

Key takeaways in this review

  • I upgraded all my bedding over several years to Quince’s bedding products, with pretty good things to say about everything.
  • My favorite products are the European Linen Sheet Set, the European Linen Duvet Set, the Mattress Protector (seriously!), the alternative down pillows and the Cotton Stitch Quilt.
  • My least favorite products are the Bamboo Sheet Set and the European Linen Box Quilt Set. Just my preference.
  • Overall, I think the prices are right, the quality has held up and the style is great.
  • I compare a few items to similar products from Brooklinen, which I had gotten from my wedding registry.

Why I tried the Quince bedding collection

Openly, Dan and I tried Brooklinen bedding when we first got married. I thought it was something I just “had” to do, in making our wedding registry and being newlyweds. Well, fact of the matter is I complained to Brooklinen both about our sheets and quilt set, and I came to Quince because the prices were better and the selection is even bigger.

From what I’m reviewing below, you may be thinking, “Wow, how many beds does your house have!?” The answer is two: we have our bedroom, and a guest bedroom downstairs. Some of the bedding accessories in this list are also dual-use for a living room, so things like throw blankets and pillow covers are also “living” in our living room.

And if you’re wondering, did I really need all these things? The answer is yes—some of the things in my bedding had not been replaced in 10 years (ew, I know) and had come from my bedroom in my apartment in the city before I even met Dan.

Well, with that being said, here is everything I’ve tried from Quince’s bedding collection, and I hope it helps you out with what you decide to get. Be sure to click into each review listed, for more photos.

European Linen Sheet Set

Rating: 10/10

I guess it is no wonder that the best-selling European Linen Sheet Set from Quince is incredibly popular. It really is “this nice” to have European Linen sheets on your bed.

Full disclosure: we got them in size “Full,” in order to put them on our guest bedroom mattress, as a place to have guests and make it nice (at an affordable price).

I like the fresh feel of them, and the color selection is excellent. There are so many to choose from. I went back and forth on what I chose for color, but ultimately the “Grey/white Mini Pinstripe” won, because I can pair it with various quilts and comforter duvet covers through the years.

Bamboo Sheet Set

Rating: 6.5/10

Getting the Bamboo Sheet Set from Quince was my first time owning non-cotton sheets. I was not sure what to expect with the texture nor the feel, and I ordered them instead because I thought bamboo sounded interesting and soft.

Regarding the quality on these (and keep in mind, these were the first Quince sheets I owned), I was not fully sold. I don’t want to be a hater—there are a lot of people who are obsessed with Quince’s Bamboo Sheets—but the seams didn’t seem super strong, the pillow cases did not come with the “pillow flap” that I got used to from Brooklinen and I didn’t like the crinkled look.

What I will give a nod to, with the Bamboo Sheet Set (they’re made from organic bamboo viscose), is that they did keep me cool all summer, even on nights when my room heated up for whichever reason. These are my summer sheets, and I will not lie about that. When I use them in winter, I actually get too cold! So I recommend them if you want seasonal warm-weather sheets and if you’re OK with the crinkle and wrinkle of them.

See my full experience about the Bamboo Sheet Set in my Quince Sheet Set review (Bamboo vs Cotton Percale vs Linen). I think I’d recommend the European Linen Sheets or Cotton Percale over the Bamboo.

Classic Organic Percale Sheet Set

Rating: 9/10

I am a fan of the Classic Organic Percale Sheet Set (they are 100% cotton). They check my boxes for being fresh and crispy, whereas the Bamboo Sheet Set is more satiny and slippery. I grew up with crisp cotton sheets, so this is ultimately what I am used to. And it’s what I want in my home.

I think the best factors about the Quince Cotton Percale Sheet Set is that they come in lots of colors, they are nice and tight on my mattress, they are all-season (I use them in both summer and winter) and the price is a big positive. I got them in “Windowpane,” a black criss-cross grid on white, because again: they’ll pair super well with any solid color quilt or bedspread.

They’re easy to wash, and they dry fast in my dryer. I hang them to dry the rest of the way, just to fluff them out naturally.

European Linen Duvet Cover Set

Rating: 9/10

No wonder it is one of Quince’s all-time best-selling bedding sets. It’s awesome, in that it looks great, feels nice and the price is right.

This is one of my more recent purchases from Quince, and it’s because I used it to replace my Brooklinen Quilt. (If you see below, we got the European Linen Quilt Set first, but decided to use it on the guest bed.)

The European Linen Duvet Cover Set looks great. I chose it in “Olive” because I wanted a fresh start to our bedroom, and I wanted a calming color that zens me out when I walk in.

Just like the European Linen Sheet Set, the linen in the duvet set is crisp and fresh-feeling. The duvet itself has a nice row of buttons to keep a comforter inside, and the pillow shams have a back-open flap to allow a pillow to slide in.

I machine-washed the entire duvet set for its first use, and let it hang dry for two days when my dryer kept rolling it up in a ball and not drying it completely. Getting the duvet was an integral piece to revamping our bedroom bedding so that we could have a new comforter (detailed below because we got the Quince comforter).

My one gripe is about the pillow shams. I wish they had the openings closer to the end, with a closure flap, rather than in the middle. It was hard to get my Quince extra-firm pillows in there.

European Linen Box Quilt Set

Rating: 8/10

I give the European Linen Box Quilt Set an 8/10 because I thought it was a little too stiff. I’m not sure what I was really looking for in a quilt, but I knew that my Brooklinen quilt was pretty thin, with no stuffing inside and no real weight to it. I thought that is what I’d be getting with the European Linen Quilt Set from Quince.

(As it turned out, the Cotton Stripe Stitch Quilt, detailed below, was a much closer replacement.)

In any case, you can read my rundown of the Quince vs Brooklinen Quilt Set to see how the quality of each pans out over several years. I will say that my Brooklinen one started fraying within two years, without even many washes. Disappointing! I’ve had better quality luck from the Quince one.

I got the Quince European Linen Quilt in the Terracotta color, and after putting it in my bedroom, the vibe was just not what I had envisioned. So, we moved it to the guest room, and because it is a Queen/Full size, it worked fine on our full-sized bed in there.

Organic Cotton Stripe Stitch Quilt

Rating: 10/10

We got it a la carte, not in a quilt set, actually. This product rating comes mostly from Dan, who sleeps with a quilt every night. I got him the Organic Cotton Stripe Stitch Quilt to replace an old quilt of a similar fabric weight that he had had for ages, and I wanted something much more neutral that would match any bedding set I put on our bed.

We got the Organic Cotton Stripe Stitch Quilt in Light Grey. Dan sleeps with it every single night and it is “his quilt.” One day he told me how much he likes it, and luckily, I like it too, because it matches everything and it’s hard to hate!

It’s a soft organic cotton, so it’s easy to wash, throw in the dryer and then hang dry to dry thoroughly. It’s a part of our bedroom bedding that is here to stay. I talk about it within a bedding update in my Quince quilt set review.

Premium Down Alternative Comforter (Duvet Insert)

Rating: 9.5/10

There’s really not much to dislike about the Premium Down Alternative Comforter from Quince.

We got it in the Lightweight version (”Lightweight Premium Down Alternative Comforter”) because our room actually runs the warmest of all our bedrooms during winter, and during summer, I’m glad to sleep with a layer like this (especially when the duvet cover is the all-seasons European Linen Duvet).

The fact that it comes in three weights is helpful, because if you want to use it only in winter, you can choose Ultra-Warm, and if you plan to use it all year round and you live in a place with four seasons, the “All-Season” weight should do the trick.

It’s cozy, with enough heaviness to burrow under, and for me, it got rid of the need to put a throw blanket on top of my lighter quilt during cold months.

Note: My one critique is that while the Quince duvet cover had for a loop and tie in the middle of the closure part, the comforter does not have a third loop to tie it in to the duvet. It only has corner loops, to match the duvet. So, I found this lacking.

Premium Down Alternative Pillow

Rating: 10/10

I am glad I made the right choice with our Quince pillows and got our first set of them in Extra-Firm. Dan said, shouldn’t we get regular Firm? And I said no, we’re getting Extra Firm.

In my Quince Premium Down Alternative Pillow review, I discuss the firmness options and how we decided on ours.

While we do get “head dent” marks on them, I think this would happen with any pillow—even our luxury-level Airweave pillows got head dents after a year of use!

I got more Quince alternative down pillows in the regular Firm, for the guest bedroom as well.

Organic Waterproof Mattress Protector

Rating: 10/10

This one is a “LOL” from me because it is the only time I will admit to you that I threw something out (not the Quince item—keep reading). I literally threw our old mattress protector the day I got the Quince Organic Waterproof Mattress Protector. It was really time and it was at the end of its life, and could not be saved.

The good news is that the Quince one is a quality upgrade from the mattress protector I previously had: it is made from 100% jersey cotton, but it feels more like canvas. I’m no expert, but this seems like a very nice mattress protector, compared to my previous one, which was a little more plastic-y.

Even though it looks completely like an organic and undyed product, the inner layer is the waterproof polyurethane that serves as the protective barrier to keep your mattress AND your mattress pad dry from any body fluids, body marks or sweat.

I’m very happy with this one as an eco-friendly mattress protector, and truth be told, I had to Google, “Does a mattress protector go over or under a mattress pad?” about five times before I learned that the protector goes over the pad (to keep it clean and dry, as you could imagine).

Hope that helped!

Essential Mattress Pad

Rating: 10/10

Nothing bad to say here; I got the mattress pad because I had always wondered if I should own one. And indeed: we never had an additional mattress pad on our memory foam mattress.

After using the Quince Essential Mattress Pad, I said to Dan, “Doesn’t our bed feel more like a hotel bed now?” And we both agreed we’ve been sleeping just a bit better and sinking into our mattress more effectively since we put it on.

Check out the Essential Mattress Pad (it comes in six sizes!).

Fisherman Throw Blanket

Rating: 11/10

Yes, yes: this one is more than perfect. It is perfectly chunky and drape-y, to the point where however you leave this throw blanket, it looks like it was styled by an interior designer.

We got it in White for our living room, and it adds a differentiation against our velvet couch and teddy rocking chair, which is our statement chair. I’d just as soon use it on my bed, though, if we did not already have the Cotton Stitch Quilt hanging out there, in addition to a hand-knitted afghan throw blanket from my grandmother. <3

In addition to being listed in my Quince Home Collection review, I note that the Cotton Fisherman Throw makes a great gift, so it’s in my guide to the best gifts from Quince.

Luxury Faux Fur Throw Blanket

Rating: 10/10

I’m being pretty liberal with ratings, but just today, Dan said, “This throw blanket is so warm.”

Truth be told, I have taken naps under our Luxury Faux Fur Throw. It’s soft, luxurious and it’s actually a deviation from my standard style, but I was working on adding “textures” to our living room and it hit the spot. I recommend this one for adding some pizzazz to a bedroom, or couch or statement chair.

A full explanation on this is available at my Quince home collection.

Decorative Pillow Covers

Rating: 8/10

I really like the decorative pillow covers that Quince makes. What I like a lot is that they come in an array of different budget tiers. I went super budget on the velvet ones for our family room couch, knowing that they’d take a beating from play and from having friends over, but for our bedroom, I went upscale and got the Kai Wool Pillow Covers.

They look great on our bed. I could not believe how heavy they are. They are timeless, and nicely made. I think less is more, for deco on our bedroom bed, and the simplicity in the organic texture of these hits the spot, whether I’m using a linen quilt on the bed, or the European Linen Duvet Set.

In this video, I do a short intro to the velvet ones I am using in our family room. I also got the Fisherman Cotton pillow covers for the living room (to match the Fisherman Throw) and the Bold Stripe Pillow Covers for the family room, because we needed a design “pop” on our very blah gray sectional couch.

My only “-2” knock off my rating for Quince’s decorative pillow covers is that they don’t yet exist in every shade of the rainbow (I wanted pink for the family room—call me crazy) and the other thing is that I am waiting for Quince to sell pillow INSERTS!

Toddler Quilt Set

Rating: 8/10

We got our toddler the European Linen Toddler Quilt and started finally using it when she was about 2 years and 9 months. I had recently gotten the Quince Walker Sleep Sack for winter, but we decided to ‘gift’ her the big girl quilt set to use in the crib, and it was a hit.

Of course, she doesn’t keep it on all the time, but in terms of quality, it’s a nice-to-have for a child who needs a first bedding set. The neutral colors match with all our crib sheets, and the fact of the matter is that the linen gets softer with time. In fact just the other day, I saw that one of her friends has the exact same quilt as a preschool ‘nap time blanket.’ It’s pretty popular!

My one regret is that the pillow sham included with the set is not very soft. To mimic the “adult” European Linen Quilt Set, the shams included are specifically shams, so they go on the second set of pillows on a bed, kind of just for show, or layering.

But with the toddler quilt set, the sham is the pillow case (or I suppose if your toddler has TWO toddler pillows in the crib, then they can sleep on a second with a pillow case). For this reason, we haven’t used the included sham yet, and I would’ve preferred that the set came with a linen pillow case instead.

I explain a bit more about it in my Quince baby and toddler review, where you can learn about other products Quince makes for little ones.

Handwoven Rattan Storage Box with Lid

Rating: 10/10!

You’ll see that I styled the rattan storage box on our queen-sized bed for the “Voila - bedding update complete!” photo. I keep it under the bench at the base of our bed, and I store an extra throw blanket in there.

While this is a general “home” accessory product that Quince sports in the “storage” category of the website, I’ve found that it has a great use in our bedroom. So, while not specifically a bedding product, I do use it to store bedding, and that has been a nice add in our room.
